Kyiv, June 3, 2014. Only law and programming policy can restrict channel's broadcast, stated Anna Bezludna, Head of the Inter Media Group, in an interview published Tuesday in the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine".
Commenting on the initiative of the "1+1 media" group to limit in its air series produced in Russia that do not meet certain criteria, Anna Bezludna noticed: "The only criteria that may restrict channel's broadcast is the law and programming policy, the rest is a matter of taste. Any channel must comply with current legislation and do its best to meet the requirements of its audience. Otherwise it is populism".
According to Anna Bezludna, the same criteria should be applied to the TV series about the World War II and the Great Patriotic War. "History can not be rewritten. Opinions can not refute the facts. Soviet Union won that war. Monuments to Soviet soldiers are in Vienna and Berlin. If management of "1+1 media" wants to make a film about unstudied, from their point of view, pages of the war, they are welcome. They can gather a crew, to work on the archives. Hence, create a film, put it on the air and perhaps even sell the rights to other channels", - said Anna Bezludna.
