Inter Looks for the Bravest, Strongest and Toughest People

27 November 2009 | 17:04

The TV Channel Inter has purchased a license from the TV production company Endemol which will open the way for the launch of the project based on the Wipeout format.

Wipeout is a dynamic and entertaining project where participants being determined to gain a victory have to go through a host of hurdles and a myriad of contests and relays. The number of falls per second in the programme has even been entered to the Guinness Book of Records.
The competitions are held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where there has been a gigantic water attraction specially erected for the filming of the Wipeout.

The format has already caught on in many countries including the USA (the ABC Channel), Great Britain (the BBC) and France (M6 Channel).

What makes the Ukrainian version of the Wipeout stand out from others is that every participant will have to compete not for himself but for his city's reputation. The project is set to involve the whole country. Twenty-six competing teams will be represented by delegates from all the regional centers. Each team will consist of five people: two men, two women plus the team captain who must be a well-known personality, native of a respective city. The results of the competitions will determine the most beautiful city inhabited by the bravest, the strongest and the toughest people.

- This project will help bring closer the Ukrainian cities', - says the TV Channel Inter's executive producer Yegor Benkendorf, - even though they will compete against each other. It is due to the fact that the sporting competitions in extreme conditions tend to bring all the participants together. I'm sure that representatives from different Ukrainian cities will support and root for each other, share their emotions and experiences all the more so as they will spend the whole month in one of the world's most beautiful corners, Buenos Aires.

Any Ukrainian citizen who has come of age can become a participant of the new programme. Castings will be held in Kyiv on December 5 and 6 and on December 12 and 13 at the following address: 30 Dmytrivska Str (TV Channel Inter). The terms of selection can be found at project's site.

The filming of the Ukrainian version of the Wipeout is scheduled for February in Argentina.

The new project will be broadcast in 2010.
