Big channel asks 'Big Politics'

The premiere of a new social and political talk-show 'Big Politics with Evgeniy Kiselyov' will be aired on September, 25 at 21:30 by 'Inter'. The show will have quite a flexible format - said Evgeniy Kiselev at the press-conference in the 'Ukrainian News' informational agency. According to Kiselyov, the structure of each program will depend upon the theme, guests and activity of the auditorium.

- There can be debates, conversation with one of the top politicians while representatives of other political forces, experts or guests in the studio will be his opponents - said Evgeniy Kiselev at the presentation of the project. - I think that the format will be quite flexible. We will follow the events and will not invent themes out of thin air which have nothing in common with a real life. Politics, especially in Ukraine, is very mobile, every day happens something new.

According to Evgeniy Kiselyov, he will not invite guests to the studio in advance, as to the nearest program, he advised to wait for the premiere.

- Let us wait for the Friday. I don't like anything prepared in advance. In my program there has to be maximum of life and improvisation. I am used to think over all the details of a program and I am not only the host, but also the author of the program.

The main know-how of the new project is absence of the strict scenario, which the host would have to follow. Mr Kiselyov remembered the political talk-show of his colleague who accurately, letter by letter, followed the written scenario.

- As a result, the life in the studio goes its way, people talk about something, argue, create interesting argumentative moments, discussion begins, while the host does not respond to it. The definite structure for any TV-show is a controversial issue, because you should not the slave of any scheme.

In order not to adjust the live discussion of the critical themes to one pattern, few typical scenarios are created for the 'Big Politics with Evgeniy Kiselyov'.

- The format of each program depends on the event, guests, audience's involvement to the discussion. The audience will be chosen as follows: if the theme of the program relates to the defined sphere of activity, we plan to invite people who work in this sphere - for example, doctors, military men. As to the guests, there can be even one person in the studio who is the newsmaker of the week.

Foreign experts will take part in the program, there will be broadcasts from regions and from abroad.

- Inter is a powerful structure. It is essential to use all the great technical and creative opportunities given by channel - says the guru of political talk-shows.

The question is - how will 'Big Politics with Evgeniy Kiselyov' differ from other programs of the same trend on Ukrainian television? Mr Kiselyov noted that it is hard to find something revolutionary new in the genre of social and political talk-shows.

- I will not stand on my head and wear black glasses with pastes. It is quite a conservative program which on her way to respectability will look like any other talk-show. We want to make a high-quality program, and I will be its host. It is more than enough for the success.

As to the rating expectations, the answer was short:

- I would not have worked with this program, if I weren't sure of its high ratings.

- Everything has to be the best on Inter - major movies, the best series, the best humorous project 'Vecherniy Kvartal', and now - the best host of the political show.
